Big UFA Helps Habs

The Habs signed quite a few players after the return of Bergeron and have improved the squad greatly.

Luke Schenn and Colton Parayko were signed and both will be top 4 d-men for the Habs, they could both be on the 2nd pairing possibly depending on how it shakes up. Both signed 3 years deal. Parayko is more of a two-way player who can chip in some offence, while Schenn is more of a shutdown, physical d-man so they should compliment each other fairly well if they play together.

Blake Coleman returns to play for the Habs for another season. His physical shutdown game will be welcomed back as he can also provide a bit of offence. Playing with a high end playmaker like Suzuki who is also a fairly good two-way player should give the Habs one of the best 3rd lines in the league.

Johan Larsson, Barclay Goodrow and Darren Helm were all signed to long term deals as they make up the rest of the bottom 6 for the Habs. Goodrow and Helm are pure shutdown guys who can play hard physical games, while Larsson will be an intriguing option to play up and down the lineup (depending on ratings challenge results) as he has a little bit of everything in his game.

The wild card signing is Philipp Grubauer. Signed for 4 years he appears to be the 3rd string goalies this year, will he rebound and be the possible starter for the Habs next season?

Overall the Habs are very happy about their ufa results, and believe that this ufa has allowed them to establish themselves once again as a contender this year as they look to redeem themselves after losing to the Dallas Stars in 6 games.
